Overview of the Engagement
The DOJ, Criminal Division required support to review, assess and the document the financial reporting and consolidation processes; assist with improving financial management systems, financial reporting, and analysis, strategic financial planning, and redesign the processes to improve efficiency and quality of decisions in support of their grant and fund management.
Description of the Scope of Work Performed
Sonora provided Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) and Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to customize web-based financial reporting software solutions to include: design, development, and deployment of enhancements and modernizations. Data were extracted from an Oracle Enterprise Management Architect (EPMA) application to be loaded into OBIEE while extracting billing details from a different source. Sonora supported the International Training Financial Management (ITFM) application to accommodate the reporting requirements that have been created in Oracle Business Intelligence to include problem-solving and any needed enhancements were identified.

Description of the Scope of Work Performed
Sonora assisted in building IT-driven capabilities for better financial planning and decision-support with the help of visualizations, reporting, projections, predictive analytics and other features. We leveraged Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Oracle AI stacks to deliver powerful data analytics tools to the Government, enabling them to make better sense out of their data. Sonora integrated multiple financial modules and data sources operating in silos, into a unified data convergence layer with interactive dashboards and with KPI (key performance indicators) and metrics correlations. We automated ETL process, real-time data handling and scheduling reports. We created analytical models for correlating grants portfolio against the profitability across multiple dimensions for future investment decisions.
